GCHawk recalibration

GCHawk recalibration

The Falcon and GCHawk are ceiling-mounted launch monitors that rely on camera calibration to accurately track balls (and clubs, if club mode is enabled).

Recalibration may be required if:

  • The device fails to lock or intermittently loses lock

  • Launch or club data is missing or inconsistent

  • The device was serviced, repositioned, or remounted

  • The hitting area or turf surface has changed

Step 1: Delete Old Calibration Files

  1. On your PC, open File Explorer.

  2. In the address bar, type:

    %AppData%

    and press Enter.

  3. In the Roaming folder, click the up arrow in the top left corner of the window to go up one level.

  4. Open LocalLow → ForesightSports → ForesightOverheadCalibration → GCHawkSetup.

  5. Delete all .json files in this folder (examples: WandSamples.jsonconfig.json).

  6. Empty your Recycle Bin to complete the removal.

Step 2: Recalibrate with the Tool

  1. Download the latest Overhead Calibration Tool from our support site (Link: Falcon or GCHawk)

  2. Launch the tool and follow the on-screen prompts.

  3. Before starting calibration, make sure your hitting area is clear of reflective objects and lighting is consistent.

  4. Using the calibration wand, move it through the requested positions/motions within the hitting area as directed by the tool. Keep the wand visible to the cameras and move at a steady pace.

  5. Let the tool run to completion and save the new calibration.

  6. Restart the device.

  7. After restart, test ball/club tracking to confirm lock and accuracy are restored.
