GC2 - Special Boot Mode

GC2 - Special Boot Mode

When dealing with a special boot mode notification on the GC2, it is often best as first port of call to re-install the latest firmware onto the device. The problem can occur when the firmware which is currently installed becomes corrupt. Please see the guide at the following location detailing how to reinstall GC2 Firmware: To install the latest version of the GC2 firmware

  1. Download and save the GC2 Firmware installation file, version 4.0.0.15, from the link above.
  2. Run the installation after the file has downloaded and been saved to your download location.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions, selecting the correct language, accepting the License Agreements, selecting the correct operating system and so forth - there will be several pop-up windows that open throughout the process until the main installation starts at the screen below:

  1. Connect the GC2 to your computer with the USB cable and power the GC2 on when requested.

  1. Press next then the firmware will start the installation when you press Start Install

Launch Monitor Installer This will install the necessary files for the Launch Monitor DO NOT goner off or disconnect the Launch Monitor during the installation.

  1. Let the installation process run uninterrupted (I would ensure the GC2 is connected to mains power so the battery does not run out part of the way through).
  2. Power off the GC2 at the end of the installation.
  3. Unplug the GC2 from the USB connection.
  4. Power the GC2 device back on, and note at the top of the third loading screen that the 4.0.0.15 firmware has updated.

If this doesn't resolve your issue, please contact support using the address below being sure to quote your GC2 serial number (which can be found on a sticker, on the base of the unit on the rear footstand).
