GC2 - The basics

GC2 - The basics

The GC2 was Foresight Sports’ original “game changer” launch monitor, introduced in 2010. It quickly became an industry standard for accuracy and portability in golf simulation and fitting environments. Although now discontinued, it remains popular in second-hand markets and is still considered highly reliable.

Data Captured

  • Ball Data
  • Club Data: Not included by default. Requires HMT (Head Measurement Technology) add-on to capture clubhead speed, smash factor, angle of attack, club path, loft/lie, face angle, and impact location.
  • Follow the general marker application guide for club data

Connection types

USB (mini B) and Bluetooth
HMT connection via special 8 pin mini DIN cable. The most common thing to cause a communication error is if there is one or more of the pins in these connectors bent or missing
Bluetooth connection is not possible whilst using the HMT extension. For GC2 & HMT setups customers must use USB connection between the GC2 and the computer.
Most common explanation for missing clubhead data:
1. GC2 is low on battery so it cannot power the attached HMT
2. Markers are worn, missing or not correctly applied
3. HMT is not connected properly / damaged cable. Test the connection by removing and reconnecting the HMT cable. A status message "HMT connected" should appear if the connection was successful.

Compatibility

Compatible with FSX Original, Foresight Fairgrounds, FSX 2020 and FSX Play software and older FR1 packages for simulation via USB and Bluetooth connection.
Only compatible with FSX Pro via USB connection.

Drivers

We recommend installing the latest drivers to make sure your GC2 can be successfully connected to your Computer:

Follow the link above to download both the Original and Updated driver installers from their Hightail links -making sure that you Save the files instead of Running them.
After the driver has been updated you can check if the GC2A is connecting to the computer via the Devices and Printers section of the Control Panel - where it should display as NGLM MSC when connected via USB.
