The HMT device is used as an add-on for the GC2 launch
monitor and it’s main role is to gather club data in addition to the ball data
that the GC2 provides.
You may see a warning on a GC2 screen when connecting up a
HMT unit - if this reads as Error B5, B6 or B14 etc, this usually means there
is a problem with the connection between the GC2 and the HMT unit.
First of all, disconnect the ends of the GC2 to HMT cable
from each device and then try to re-establish connection, ensuring the cable is
securely seated and aligned with the pin receptacles -being careful not to push
too hard as you can damage the pins.
The GC2 is connected to the HMT with an 8 pin mini DIN cable
(as pictured below) the most common thing to cause a communication error is if
there is one or more of the pins in these connectors bent or missing. I would
recommend checking both ends of your HMT connection cable for missing or bent
pins to see if this could be the cause of your issue.
You can purchase replacement cables from ourselves that are
of a suitable length and of a type we have tested for the GC2 & HMT - but
equally you can source a replacement cable yourself.
If you continue to have problems with a fully functional /
replacement cable, there could be a previously broken pin stuck in one of the
ports on the GC2 or HMT - this would need to be cleared in order for the device
to work once more.
Should you still experience difficulty after checking the
above, we would recommend updating the firmware on the GC2 - to ensure the device is working as intended
by refreshing the operating software.
If this does not improve operation of your device we
recommend sending your GC2 and HMT back to our Service centre for further
investigation.
