Connecting FSX Pro to Your iPhone and iPad: A Complete Guide

If you're trying to pair your FSX Pro with your iPhone or iPad and receiving a message stating there is no subscription linked to your device, you're not alone. Many users encounter this issue when setting up their mobile devices for the first time. The good news is that this is typically not a problem with your device or the app - it’s usually a matter of ensuring the correct setup sequence and activation steps are followed. This guide will walk you through everything you need to know to successfully connect your FSX Pro app to your mobile devices, whether you're using an iPhone or iPad.

Understanding the FSX Pro Subscription Model

One of the most common sources of confusion stems from how FSX Pro is structured. It’s important to clarify that FSX Pro is not a standalone subscription. Instead, it is a free add-on that unlocks automatically once you have properly activated your FSX 2020 software on a Windows computer. This means that your mobile devices don’t need a separate subscription - they rely on your desktop activation to gain access.

If your iPhone or iPad shows a “no subscription” error, it’s because the app is trying to verify your access, but the system hasn’t yet recognized your account as active. The solution lies in completing the activation process on your Windows machine first.

Step-by-Step Activation of FSX 2020 on Windows

Before you can use FSX Pro on your mobile devices, you must activate the FSX 2020 software on a Windows PC. Here’s how:

  1. Download and install FSX 2020 from the official Support website: https://support.foresightsports.com/support/software/fsx-2020
  2. Launch the software and enter your FSX 2020 activation code
  3. During activation, you’ll be prompted to log in with your FSX Live account using a valid email and password. You can create your FSX Live account for free via this link: https://fsxlive.foresightsports.com/
  4. Once the activation is complete, your account will be linked to the FSX 2020 software.

This step is critical. Without it, the mobile app will not recognise your credentials, regardless of how many times you try to log in.

Logging Into FSX Pro on iPhone and iPad

After your FSX 2020 software is activated, you can proceed to log in to the FSX Pro app on your iPhone or iPad using the same FSX Live username and password. (No further activation is needed)

  1. Open the FSX Pro app on your device.
  2. Tap Log In and enter your FSX Live credentials.
  3. Do not tap the “Subscription” option. Instead, tap START or NEXT until you reach the Performance Analysis page.
  4. Once you’re on the Performance Analysis screen, minimise the app - do not close it. This keeps the connection active in the background.

This step ensures that the app is properly authenticated and ready to connect to your GC3 device.

Connecting FSX Pro to Your GC3 Device via Wi-Fi

The final and most crucial step is connecting your mobile device to the GC3’s Wi-Fi network. This allows the app to communicate directly with the GC3 hardware.

  1. Go to Settings > Wi-Fi and select the GC3 network. It will appear as something like GC3-103xxxx.
  2. Enter the password: FSSPORTS.
  3. Once connected, return to the FSX Pro app.
  4. Navigate to Settings > Devices > Connect GC3.
  5. The app should now detect your GC3 device and establish a connection.

If the connection fails, double-check that:

  • You’re connected to the correct GC3 network.
  • The password is entered correctly.
  • The GC3 device is powered on.
Please note that only a Wi-Fi connection is available within FSX Pro, no Bluetooth (BLE).

Troubleshooting Common Connection Issues

Some users report that the app still doesn’t recognize the GC3 even after following all steps. Here are a few additional tips:

  • Restart both devices: Sometimes, a simple restart of your iPhone or iPad and the GC3 unit can resolve connectivity issues.
  • Check for software updates: Ensure both the FSX Pro app and your GC3 firmware are up to date.
  • Reinstall the app: If problems persist, try uninstalling and reinstalling the FSX Pro app.
  • Use a different device: If possible, test the connection with another iPhone or iPad to rule out device-specific issues.

Why the “No Subscription” Message Appears

The “no subscription” message is misleading but not an error. It appears because the app is checking for a valid subscription status, but since FSX Pro is tied to your FSX 2020 activation, the mobile app relies on that link. If the desktop activation is incomplete or the credentials are mismatched, the app will not recognize your access.

This is why it’s essential to complete the activation on a Windows PC first. Once that’s done, the mobile app will sync properly and the message will no longer appear.
