1. Windows Update
Please ensure that you do not have any pending Windows Updates left before you update your NVIDIA Graphics card driver.
Go to the Start Button and select the Settings button.
Select Update and Security.
From this Windows Update screen select Advanced Options
Next switch on the option below to Receive updates for other Microsoft Products and press the back button to return to the main updates screen.
And then Check for updates / Downloads to start installing updates.
I would keep going back in and checking for Windows updates, very often the next set of updates won't be available until you have installed the current set and rebooted your Computer. Also there may be large service packs (optional updates) that need to be triggered manually rather than Windows installing automatically. I would recommend doing all of these.
2. Updating your GPU Manually
If the computer was not purchased through us or you are unsure what GPU you have it can be checked in DXDIAG.
To check your GPU model:
Press the "win" +"R" key at the same time and it will open the run box, then type "dxdiag" and press enter.
If a prompt asks you to assign your drivers, press yes or OK.
Once the program has opened up there will be a display tab to select, and under this section, it will say the name of the GPU an example is below.
Next, navigate to the Nvidia Updates page, and fill in the boxes to the information you have just located. An example has been filled in below.
Press search to find the latest driver and follow the page prompts to download the driver installation file. We would recommend selecting a basic NVIDIA Control panel installation instead of the NVIDIA Experience.
Once you have downloaded the driver, open the file and follow the onscreen instructions - selecting the options like Yes or Next or I accept etc.
3. Adjust the NVIDIA Control Panel through the following process:
Right-click anywhere on the Windows Desktop that is open and clear
Select NVIDIA Control Panel
Select Manage 3D Settings
For Power management mode be sure to select Prefer maximum performance
Press Apply and close the window when the apply button has disappeared.
4. Add your Foresight Softwareto the NVIDIA Control Panel
Add your Foresight Software or Browse for the Software from C:\Program Files (x86) \FSXPlay
5. Add your Foresight Software to Windows High-performing Apps
Select your Foresight Software, then select Options and change it from "let Windows decide" to "Nvidia Graphics"
Restart your computer and test the software again.
Display resolutions
Duplicate Mode
When using Duplicate mode in Windows display settings, the same image is shown on all monitors. To avoid scaling issues:
Set both monitors to similar resolutions.
If the monitors have different native resolutions, choose the lower resolution for both.
Example: Don’t use 4K resolution if one of your monitors is Full HD.
Extended Mode
When using Extend mode, each monitor acts as a separate display. In this case:
You can set different resolutions for each monitor based on their native capabilities.
After configuring Extended mode in Windows, enable Dual Screen in FSX Play to take advantage of the extended layout.
7. Also check that the refresh rate for both monitors are matching.
